PECKMANSTON, (Kent) near Newchurch, anciently bel. to the Leybourns; but, for want of issue, reverting to the crown, K. Rich. II. granted it to the abbey of Childrens-Langley. After the Diss. Hen. VIII. granted it to Sir Thomas Moyle, by whose daughter it went to Sir Tho. Kempe, who in the R. of Q. Eliz. sold it to Tho. Smith, farmer of her customs, by whose grandaughter it went to Mr. Barrow of Suffolk.
