PINCHPOLES, (Essex) near Manenden, bel. anciently to Westminster-Abbey, and after the Diss. was granted to its D. and C. by Henry VIII. but Edw. VI. gave this and other manors to Rich. Chamond, &c. who sold it to Clement Buck; one of whose descendants sold it to Tho. Hobbes. It afterwards bel. to Peter Knight, Esq; of West-Ham.
