RINGWOLD, (Kent) near the sea, 5 m. N. E. of Dover, whereof it is a member, bel. in the R. of Edw, II. to Bartholomew Ld. Badlesmere, who obtained it a Mt. and Fair; the former, if not the latter, disused. It went afterwards to the Veres Es. of Oxford; and in Rich. II's R. to the Belknaps, till the R. of Q. Eliz. when Sir Henry's 3 daughters joined in a conveyance of it to the Edolphs, and Sir -Edolph enjoyed it in the R. of Cha.I.
