SEAL, (Devon) on the E. side of Okehampton, was one of the corps. of this Co. that had charters, remaining in force at this day, by which it was liable to have the expence of returning and paying members of Pt. but having made friends to the sheriff (in whose power it was chiefly to return what members he pleased) or pleading poverty, &c. were excused.
