SEWARDSTON, (Essex) in the p. of Waltham-Holy-Cross. Its manor was given by K. Hen. II. to its abbey. Sir Ralph Sadler conveyed it after the Diss. to Sir Anth. Denny. James E. of Carlisle by a will, 1666, devised it to be sold. In the R. of Cha. II. Will. Pocock appears to have had it. It was afterwards purchased by James Southerby, grandfather of the present owner. The late Edw. Parre, Esq; had a seat here,
