STURRY, (Kent) by the Stour r. 2 m. N. E. from Canterbury, anciently bel. to the abbey of St. Austin, after which, the manor was the estate of the Apulderfields, from whom it went by marriage to Sir John Phineux, and from thence in like manner to Sir John Smith, grandfather to its late owner Visc. Strangford, of the Km. of Ireland.
