STURTON, (Nottinghamshire) on the S. side of Ganesborough, anciently bel. in part to Mansfield, and came at length to the Sturtons family, and thence to the Darceys and Lascells. Some lands here did bel. to the priory of Mattersey, which after the Diss. were granted by Henry VIII. with that mon. to Sir Anthony Nevil, from whose family they went to the Sturtons, and were lately the inheritance of John Millington.
