TROWEL, (Nottinghamshire) on the W. side of Nottingham, was held for divers generations by the Trowel family, under the
Mortimers, and several lands in the p. were given to Dale-Abbey and the nuns of Sempringham, which were lately the estate
of Sir Percival Willoughby.
