WOODE, alias WOODCHURCH, (Kent) in Thanet-Isle, 5 m. N. of Sandwich, is a member of the port of Dover, to which it was united by Henry VIII. It had a Ch. some time ago demolished, and the p. laid to Birchington, yet it continues distinct as to all kinds of taxation.
