WOODFORD, (Dorset) on the Frome r. bet. Frampton and Bindon, had anciently a castle, and came by marriage of the daughter
and heiress of Sir Edm. Cheyney of Brooke, to Tho. Strangeways of Lancashire, who being brought hither by the Marquis of
Dorset, got a fine estate in this Co. by this marriage.
