Note for the Reader.

The present is the third volume of the Registers of the Diocese of St. Asaph, which has been completed by the Shropshire Parish Register Society. It consist of the Registers of Kinnerley, Knockin and Llanyblodwel. In this volume, as has been the plan adopted by the Council throughout, the Registers are not printed verbatim et literatim, but in abstract form, all mere verbiage being omitted, though every fact is recorded, and all cccurrences, remarkable events, terriers, etc, given in the Registers are printed in full. The following abbreviations have been adopted:-

A capital letter after "of" or "p." denotes the parish whose particular Register is being printed; thus "of K." = "of Kinnerley," and "p. L., = "parish of Llanyblodwel."

Thanks are due to the Incumbents of these parishes for leave to print the Registers. and for facilities afforded in their transcription and collation. Also to the Venerable Archdeacon Thomas, the Rev. C.H. Drinkwater, the Rev. W.G.D. Fletcher. Mr. T.R. Horton, Miss Leighton, Mrs. Walker, and Miss Oldfield. for transcribing and collating; and to the Rev. E.R.O. Bridgeman for information kindly supplied by him from the Mytton MSS.
