Register of Births and Baptisms.

This is a small book, 8 1/2 inches tall and 6 3/4 inches broad, in a brown leather cover. It contains entries of births and baptisms from 1802 to 1836; and a leaf at the end has burials from 1826 to 1836, and a list of the names of 25 other persons buried in the Chapel Yard, Corve Street, the burials having been imperfectly registered.

The Corve Street Chapel was founded about 1736, and the congregation worshipped here until 1830, when they built the Old Street Chapel.

The baptisms were taken by D. Francis, pastor, from 1802 to 1824; in 1824-5 by James Hardy; from 1825 to 1835 by James Bidlake; and in 1835-6 by Theophilus Davies, who styles himself " Protestant Dissenting Minister." This Register is No. 17 of the Shropshire Non-Parochial Registers at Somerset House.
